Several polls have predicted that the opposition Socialist party led the first round of the regional parliamentary election on Sunday, but due to a record-low voter turnout, a second round is scheduled for next Sunday. According to professional pollster TNS-Sofres, the Socialist party was the frontrunner with 30 percent of the vote while the ruling UMP followed with a share of 26.7 percent.
