Canada announced on Friday its immigration plan for 2009, promising to introduce 265,000 new permanent residents and fast track the applications for potential immigrants in dozens of high-demand occupations. "Our planned numbers for 2009 are on par with last year and are among the highest for this country over the past 15 years," Immigration Minister Jason Kenney said in a statement.
